Company Workspace (Choose or Create a Company)

The Company Workspace is where you manage product data as an organization: products, catalogs, categories/templates, users, data assets, integrations, and subscription.
This page is the “entry point” to your workspaces — here you can:

  • verify corporate emails (for trust and governance),
  • join existing companies,
  • create a new company workspace,
  • choose the current company (active workspace) you are working in right now.

If you ask how to create a new company in Actualog, this is the page to use. First search for the company to avoid duplicates. If the company is not found and your account is allowed to create workspaces, use the create-company option on this page, fill in the official company details, save the workspace, and then set it as your current company.

What is the “current company”?

Actualog is a multi-workspace platform. You can belong to multiple companies, but only one company is active at a time.

The current company determines:

  • what you see in the left sidebar (Products, Catalogs, Categories, Users, Data Assets, Billing),
  • which data you can edit,
  • which permissions apply to you,
  • which subscription and limits are in effect.

If something looks missing (for example, you don’t see Products or Catalogs), first check whether you selected the correct current company.

Corporate e-mails (verification)

At the top of the page you can manage your corporate emails.

Why corporate email matters

Verifying a corporate email helps Actualog:

  • confirm your organizational identity,
  • reduce fraud and impersonation,
  • enable safer joining and company creation workflows,
  • improve trust when your company publishes catalogs or participates in communities.

Common actions

  • Add e-mail — add another email address to your account.
  • Verify — confirm ownership of an email address (usually via a verification message).
  • Primary e-mail — the main email used for account communication.
  • Receive notifications — which email receives system notifications.

Tip: Keep at least one verified business email if you plan to represent a company publicly or manage workspace governance.

Search or add companies (join an existing workspace)

Use Search or add companies to find a company workspace and request membership.

How joining works

  1. Start typing the company name.
  2. Select the company from results.
  3. Submit a join request (or accept an invitation if one exists).

Your request appears in Your join requests until the company admin approves or declines it.

Tip: If your company is already using Actualog, the fastest way is to ask the admin to send you an invitation (this assigns the correct roles immediately).

My Companies (workspaces you already belong to)

My Companies lists every company workspace where you are already a member.

Each company card shows:

  • the company name and logo,
  • your role(s) in that company (for example: Admin, Sales, Procurement, Observer),
  • actions you can perform.

Common actions

  • Use as current company / Current company
Switches the active workspace for the entire app.
  • Open
Opens the company workspace (company profile and related tools).
  • User management (visible for admins / permitted users)
Manage members, roles, invitations, and join requests.
  • Leave
Removes your membership from that workspace (if allowed).

Create company (start a new workspace)

If you don’t see your organization in Actualog yet, you can create a new company workspace.

How to create a company workspace

  1. Open Company Workspace from the left sidebar or account start page.
  2. Verify at least one corporate email if the page asks for it.
  3. Use Search or add companies to check whether the company already exists.
  4. If the organization is not found, choose the create-company option shown by the page.
  5. Enter the official company name and the company details required by the form.
  6. Save the company workspace.
  7. Set the new company as your current company.
  8. Invite colleagues and assign roles if you are the company administrator.
  9. Start configuring company categories, products, catalogs, integrations, and subscription.

Always search before creating a company. Actualog tries to avoid duplicate workspaces because duplicates make product authority, catalogs, billing, invitations, and publication trust harder to manage.

When to create a company

Create a company when:

  • you are starting Actualog adoption for your organization,
  • you are building a pilot workspace for a team,
  • you are an independent professional who needs a workspace to publish catalogs and manage products.

Requirements

Company creation may require a verified corporate email. This protects the ecosystem from fake companies and improves trust in published catalogs.

What happens after creation

Once created, the company workspace becomes your operational area where you can:

  • invite colleagues,
  • assign roles and permissions,
  • define company-category relationships (manufacturer, distributor, consumer, etc.),
  • create brands,
  • create/import products,
  • publish catalogs,
  • connect integrations and manage subscription.

Join requests (pending approvals)

The Your join requests section shows companies you asked to join and their status.

  • Awaiting approval — waiting for a company admin to review your request.
  • Cancel — withdraws your request.

If a request is pending too long, contact the company admin and ask for an invitation or approval.

Troubleshooting

“I joined, but I still can’t do anything”

Most likely:

  • you are not set as current company, or
  • your role is limited (Observer/Viewer), or
  • the feature requires permission (imports, integrations, billing).

Ask a company admin to update your roles.

“I can’t create a company”

Usually means you need to:

  • verify a corporate email first, or
  • your account is restricted by policy.

“I don’t see Products/Catalogs in the sidebar”

Select the correct current company — the sidebar reflects the active workspace.

Best practice for the first day

  1. Verify at least one corporate email (if you represent a company).
  2. Join or create the company workspace.
  3. Set it as current company.
  4. Ask the admin to assign the roles you need (Products, Catalogs, Procurement, Integrations).
  5. Start with one category and a small set of products — then scale.
